On Monday morning, a former MLA died due to corona virus infection.

Rakshapal Singh, a senior leader of the National Conference, who was an MLA from Kalakot Assembly constituency in Rajouri district on the Line of Control, died on Monday morning. Corona was examined when Rakshapal Singh became ill and showed signs of corona virus. Rakshpal Singh’s corona virus test report came positive.

Rakshapal Singh was admitted to the hospital for treatment after the corona report came positive. During treatment Rakshapal Singh died on Monday morning. He breathed his last in the hospital. Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and senior leader of the National Conference, expressed grief over the death of Rakshpal Singh by tweeting.

Omar Abdullah has tweeted that he had spoken to Rakshpal Singh on the phone just a day earlier. Rakshapal Singh was placed on oxygen support. Omar Abdullah has said that Rakshpal Singh wished to get well soon. My prayers are with the family of Rakshpal Singh. Let us know that Rakshapal Singh, who was an MLA from the National Conference, was defeated in the 2014 assembly elections by Abdul Ghani Kohli of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
