Health Minister Satyendar Jain replied on increasing cases of corona virus again in Delhi

Regarding the number of patients in hospitals in Delhi, Satyendra Jain said that one-third of the total patients admitted for treatment of corona are from other states.

In the national capital Delhi, cases of infection with the corona virus have started increasing again. State Health Minister Satyendar Jain has said that in the case of increasing cases in Delhi, 2914 positive cases have been found in Delhi on 4 September. 1791 were recovered and 13 patients died. He said that testing has doubled in the last one week in Delhi.

Delhi’s Health Minister said that 16 to 17 thousand people were being tested earlier. On September 4, 37 thousand tests have been done. He said that the positivity rate is not increasing in Delhi. The positivity rate at the national level is around 7.30 percent. In Delhi too, the positivity rate is around 8 percent. The Health Minister has appealed to the people to follow the rules.

Regarding the number of patients in hospitals in Delhi, Satyendra Jain said that one-third of the total patients admitted for treatment of corona are from other states. Some private hospitals have full beds. Among them, 60 to 70 percent of the patients are from outside Delhi. He said that we already carry 80 percent occupancy of the hospital, so 14 thousand beds have been arranged.

Will beds be kept for the people of Delhi? On this question, the Health Minister in Kejriwal Government has said that there is nothing like this. We have made arrangements on a very large scale. Many beds are empty. When people outside Delhi came to get treatment in hospitals, he said that this raises questions on the health system of neighboring states.

On the question asked about the peak in Delhi, the Health Minister said that it is not possible to speculate about it. He said that 4000 cases had come in the first 10,000 tests. Now 40 thousand tests have been done. Significantly, the number of corona patients in Delhi has started growing again.
