The BRO has prepared the third and most important road amidst the tense situation on the India-China border. This road will connect Manali to Leh. This will make the movement of army personnel more easy. It will be known as Nemo-Padam-Darcha.
Actually, this road will be away from any boundary. It is about 90% ready and will save about one hour of the army convoy. The interesting thing is that this road will be open for all 12 months.
In a way, it will be the all-weather route of Ladakh which will connect two more routes. Anytime the Indian Army personnel will reach Leh and Kargil in a few hours via Padam and then Neemo via Himachal’s Darcha.
The Darcha-Padam-Nemo road will connect Darcha in the Lahaul Valley of Himachal Pradesh with the Padam area of Janskar in Kargil district. The distance from Darcha to Padam is about 148 kilometers.
A BRO official Manoj Jain said that this road between Padam in Zanskar region is a historic achievement. Please tell that due to heavy snowfall and weather conditions, both the earlier roads made by BRO are closed for most of the year.
