NCB: No drug test as of now for Showik and Samuel Miranda

The NCB sources say that no drug test of Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda is being conducted as of now. They will be presented before the magistrate court today.

he Narcotics Control Bureau on Saturday took Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda for medical test. The two will be presented before the magistrate court by the NCB after their Covid test. However, the NCB sources said that no drug test of Showik and Miranda is being conducted as of now. They were arrested by the NCB on Friday night after the agency raided their residences in the morning. The were questioned for more than nine hours after the raid.

The NCB will seek 4 to 6 days custody of Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda from the magistrate court. Sources reveal that the custody of the two will help NCB nab other celebrities involved in the drug controversy in Bollywood.

During the questioning on Friday, Showik Chakraborty confessed that he used to buy drugs at Rhea’s behest. The NCB sources claim that he was a facilitator not only for Sushant Singh Rajput, but also arranged narcotics for some other Bollywood stars.

Showik’s WhatsApp chats with an alleged drug peddler were accessed by India Today, that revealed he was dealing in drugs. He also mentioned the name of drug peddler Zaid Vilatra, who had been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday (September 1) night.

The NCB sources say that Rhea Chakraborty is likely to be summoned for questioning on Sunday. More drug peddlers may also be arrested.

Showik and Samuel have been arrested under sections 8c, 28, 29 of the NDPS Act. Section 8c of NDPS Act means prohibition of certain operations in which no person shall produce, manufacture, possess, sell, purchase, transport, warehouse, use, consume, import inter-state, export inter-state, import into India, export from India or tranship any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.

Sushant Singh Rajput death case is currently being investigated by the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau. While the CBI is probing the circumstances in which Sushant died and if there’s any murder angle to it, the ED is investigating money-laundering angle on the basis of Sushant’s father KK Singh’s complaint at Patna’s Rajiv Nagar Police Station against Rhea Chakaborty, her family and others. The NCB is probing a drug angle in the case.
