Lockdown extended for a week in Delhi due to Covid-19 cases, now lockdown till 3 May
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference in the midst of the worsening situation of Corona in Delhi. Kejriwal said that due to Corona, we have imposed a lockdown. The lockdown in Delhi has been extended till May 3.
Due to no improvement in the situation due to Corona in the capital Delhi, the state government has extended the lockdown in the state for another week. CM Kejriwal announced this. He said that we have taken this decision after considering it. During the press conference, CM Kejriwal said that the Corona cases in Delhi are increasing rapidly. Therefore, it was very important to put a lockdown in Delhi.CM Kejriwal said that lockdown is the last weapon to deal with Corona. The way cases were increasing. It was necessary to use the last weapon. Corona still continues to wreak havoc. Therefore, we have decided to increase the lockdown in the state. The lockdown has been extended till 5 am on May 3.
Oxygen problem- Kejriwal
CM Kejriwal said that at present, the need of oxygen in Delhi is seven hundred tons and we have been allocated 480 tons of oxygen from the Central Government. Tomorrow, the central government has allocated 10 tonnes more. That means a total of 490 tonnes of oxygen has been allocated. CM Kejriwal said that the entire supply is not coming to Delhi, however. Delhi is getting oxygen from 330 to 335 tons only. This is the reason why the lack of oxygen in Delhi is very high.
Let us know that the positivity rate in Delhi is running above 32%, there is a crisis of oxygen, there is also a shortage of beds due to which the government is currently seeing no other way than to increase the lockdown. Earlier the lockdown started in Delhi from 10:00 pm on 19th April, the current lockdown period is till 5:00 am on 26th April. Delhi government will take a final decision on this on Sunday.
24,103 new cases, 357 deaths
InDelhi, 24,103 new cases of corona were reported in the last 24 hours on Saturday. It is a matter of concern that in the last 24 hours, there were a record 357 deaths in Delhi. This is the largest figure till date. Not only this, the positivity rate in Delhi has also increased to 32.27%. Currently, 93,080 patients are being treated in the capital. Earlier on Friday, 348 patients died in Delhi.Decreasing cases At the time of the decision of the six-day lockdown, the Delhi government said that this would reduce the cases of infection and provide an opportunity to prepare health resources, but even after the six-day lockdown, corona cases in the capital would have come down. CM Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Chief Ministers
On Saturday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of all the states of the country and requested him to provide oxygen. The Chief Minister has written a letter appealing to everyone to make Delhi available if they have extra oxygen. Due to the rapid increase in severe cases of corona in the last few days, there is a shortage of oxygen in many hospitals of Delhi. He said that please consider it very serious.
